HiBrew H10 Pressure Gauge Past Pre-Infusion — Is It Normal?

Is my HiBrew pressure gauge reading normal?

Short answer: yes, this is normal. Confirmed directly with HiBrew for both the H10A and H10 Plus.

The pressure gauge is a rough visual indicator of the pump pressure, not a calibrated measurement of extraction pressure at the puck. It's normal for the needle to swing past the pre-infusion mark during a pull — especially with finely ground coffee or a dense tamp.

When to worry: if the actual shot is off — dripping forever, no flow at all, wildly inconsistent volume, or the machine doesn't pressurise at all. In that case the issue is elsewhere (grind size, puck prep, or a genuine fault).
